Laser Hair Removal Treatment

The treatment for laser hair removal usually takes six to eight weeks and requires a minimum of six sessions. Some treatments will be advertised in as little as three sessions, don’t be fooled. While there are exceptions out there, for purposes of this discussion averages only will be addressed.

Even though the first session will yield amazing results, the hair will grow back, hence multiple sessions. Hair grows in cycles and the sessions are timed for optimum LHR results. You can expect to spend short amounts of time for small areas, such as the upper lip, chin and back of the neck and longer sometimes over and hour for large areas such as the legs or back. Because there is little pain, minor discoloration and no anesthesia involved the patient can go about their daily routine without interruption.

It is not uncommon to feel a tingling sensation in the area being treated and sometimes a little sting, but, unlike the all to familiar “now, this might sting a bit” comment from smiling doctors and nurses before they stick you with a needle the size of a #19 knitter that feels like a red hot arrow finding its mark.

If there is a sting at all it is really so slight it’s barely noticeable, and I am speaking from experience, so trust me it’s nothing major. Of course for very sensitive areas, a bikini line for example, you can request a little topical numbing ointment. You also might detect a slight burning odor, again, nothing major, you are not on fire. Finally, LHR treatments are painless, easy and accessible. As always; research, ask questions and check with your doctor before contracting for any services.
